Isabela Island, Galápagos Islands, Ecuador

Picture of the Day 1

Isabela Island is not only the largest of the 18 main Galápagos Islands, but it’s also one of the youngest. In fact, this volcanic caldera on the island still erupts from time to time, further increasing the island’s size. Six volcanoes merged to form this land mass that resembles the shape of a seahorse.
